IPOH: A primary school teacher was killed and his colleague seriously injured in a collision involving a car and another vehicle at Km 71.5 of the Ipoh-Gerik trunk road near Kuala Kangsar.
In the incident at 9.15pm on Monday, driver Bong Kah Hin, 30, and his passenger Chua Hui Thean, 29, were heading back to their rented house in Lenggong after visiting the night market in Kuala Kangsar.
Kuala Kangsar OCPD Supt Abdul Ghafar Muhamad said the two were travelling along the Ipoh-Gerik trunk road when another car suddenly veered into their lane and crashed into their vehicle.
“Bong died on the spot while Chua, who suffered serious head injuries, was sent to the Kuala Kangsar Hospital.
“She was transferred to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital's intensive care unit later at midnight,” he added.
Supt Abdul Ghafar said the other driver, who was unhurt, had been detained for investigations.
